I was reading the stuff that Shannon had to put in her site. Shannon is Shannon Campbell who sang a coupla songs with Scott Andrew. I love Scott’s music, but I love Shannon’s voice like hell. No wonder why I keep playing ‘Dreaming of the Violets.’ Too bad I cant find a site (apart from a blog where she seldom puts anything) to try out more of her music.
Guess I’m holding on to myself …. for you.
Anyway Scott always has to say pretty interesting stuff about people/music labels who are anti file sharing. All Scott had to say to those recently was, “Your music aint worth stealing!” lol!! But seriously the music labels have to be less greedy. Arent they makin enough, why keep suing every goddamn person who prefer not to agree with their point of view? Read at Newsforge about a billionaire backing a p2p firm’s battle with hollywood. Surely a good sign, dont ya think?
Anyway still slowly and steadily discovering the wonders that this media player called amaroK can do. I read someone once writing an open letter to Apple for porting iTunes to GNU/Linux as a token for taking so much from the open source community. Well ever since I discovered amaroK (thanks to Mandrake 10.1), I guess Apple can come kiss my ass for all I care. Obviously with amaroK, the free software community has proved that they can produce software at par with (or many a times with better features, than) any stupid proprietary counterpart.
There’s been a lot of hoopla over OOo going the java way, for the extreme dependence of OOo beta verson for the future 2.0 series on java and JRE. To be honost it surely is scary. I for one, all of a sudden is finding myself using AbiWord. Better get used to alternatives before OOo becomes a closed source freeware product, instead of remaining a free (as in freedom) software.
Scott just started playing Gravel Road Requiem. I guess one of my all time favorite songs. I wish I can write songs like this. I have always loved this kinda melody or whatever u call it. But it’s awesome hey!
Oh guess what, My Debian Sarge is totally rockin, I have installed and configured all the things that I would need, and all the latest versions of stuff. Guess my computer has never ran so smoothly even tho it’s like 3 and a half years old. I would also like to try Free BSD one of these days. I’m not that die hard Linux maniac as much as I’m a GNU and GNOME maniac. So as long as I am on GNOME, the kernel doesnt matter till the time it’s ‘not non free.’
Anyway apart from that; called up my favorite girl the other day. It was cool, talking for the very first time. It didnt feel like talking to someone for the first time; like she did put it “we have known each other for 3 fuckin years man!” Talked for around 15 minutes and felt real good. Didnt wanna hang up, but well it was real late.
After my sift got over this Monday morning called up SM and decided to go for a movie… Went for Pacifier! Never thought Vin Diesel is any good, but hey I like Arnold doin a comedy, so why no Vin. It was time pass, and sometimes quite funny. SM and this friend of her’s from her team would be resigning early next month. SM might as well be moving to Pune, which is gonna suck. I mean I dont wanna let go of my phoebe.
Well SM is my Phoebe in case you dunno, in the sense, that we have a pact like if we dont get married by the time we turn 30, we might aswell marry each other.
Anyway I am supposed to reply to my favorite girls email which is a month overdue, so might aswell say adios to ya all.
I learned a long time ago to stop drinkin’ beer when you play, because you always have to burp right at the pritiest part of your song…
P.S. Listenin to Untouchable Face, by Shannon, a cover of a song by some musician that I dunno of. Very cool gotta say.
And I hate to say it that you’re perfect together.
So fuck you, for your untouchable face
And fuck you, for existing in the first place…
P.P.S. BTW; Hey Zen, Blues, Pompy, Jo ‘not’ so fine and Sandy. How ya all doin?
